And Now For Something Completely Different …2019 Brings Change

Spread the love

As we are on the cusp of entering the New Year, I am feeling excited for new adventures. Some of these adventures involve this dear blog that I have been creating for the last 5 years. Don’t worry, I’m not going away! At least, not completely. There are just going to be a few changes. A few small changes… I hope you will bear with me through these and I am hopeful you will enjoy them as much as I enjoy making this blog. There may be some growing pains, some hiccups, however, it’ll still be me here, sharing the vegan love wherever I am and with whatever I am doing.

The main change you will see is not any new dessert recipes from January – April. The reason for this is because I will not have an oven to use during these months. Because …. I am on the road! I’ve loaded up my van and have headed southwest from Vermont in search of warmer weather. Crazily, enough, as I sit here in an El Paso, Texas coffee shop, there is snow on the ground and it is 35F. Sigh. Maybe I should have planned an escape to Mexico! Still, the winter is young yet and I’m sure I will find a good place to set up base.

During the months of January – April, I will still be posting and creating and sharing, it will just be of a different type. I am working on a series of Youtube videos highlighting how I stay vegan on the road, live as a vegan on a budget, and live the van dwelling lifestyle full-time during these months. I am assuming for many of you, the van-life is not something you are familiar with in all its intricacies. It may not be of interest to you, however, I hope that if you know someone who is interested, that you will share this page with them. Once I am back in an S&B (sticks & bricks) location in May, I will return to making all the sweet desserts!

One change you may have noticed already is the addition of ads to my site and to a couple other money making efforts I am developing. After 5 years, it is past time I figured out how to monetize my site at least a little bit. This has always been a labor of love (vegan love!) but it has also been a financial drain in many ways due to the cost of ingredients to develop recipes, my time creating them, and then the time it takes to create a blog post and share it across all the social networks. It may not sound like a lot, in fact it may sound easy, yet it easily takes 5-10 hours of my time, not to mention the monetary cost, for each blog post. I know! And here I am, still doing it. Many people quit their blogs when they realize how much work it is. It is seriously like having a part-time job. And I’ve loved (almost) every minute of it. Silly me, though, is not getting paid for this part-time job! SO, changes …

I’m approaching the monetizing issue from several different angles – diversifying is what the bankers would say. 🤑

💕💕 If you get any value out of this site, please consider contributing so I can keep doing this. Labors of Love are great until ya gotta put food on the table and diesel in the van. 💕💕💕

  • Hot Logic Portable Ovens – I’ve become an affiliate for this company. This means I get a percentage from every sale that is made using my link. I love this product more than I can express –> it makes my full-time van dwelling adventure SO much nicer. If you would like to learn more about them, please feel free to ask me or visit the link below. I will be posting some videos of how I use my 12V version on the road soon.
  • Vegan Budget Life 2-Week Meal Plan & Resource Guide – I created this to help folks who are new, stuck, or frustrated (or all three!) in their vegan journey. It is in-depth! This is a 2-week meal plan with all the recipes you need (20+) to eat, daily to-do instructions, shopping lists, explanations of ingredients, cooking tips and guides, and best and most important of all, it is made for those on a budget. You don’t need any fancy ingredients or super cooking skills to follow this guide. It is as simple and easy to follow as possible. It also includes an introduction to veganism, nutritional information, and a huge list of resources for anyone starting on or struggling with their journey. Please feel free to share this far & wide! It’s $14.95 for the whole thing, which is uber budget friendly compared to most meal plans.
  • Patreon Campaign– You’ve likely seen me mention this before. Patreon is a platform where folks can support artists and creative projects that they like. It’s a monthly contribution and it is super important to maintaining regular support. When you sign up to be a monthly contributor, you get a free gift (depending on the contribution level) and access to a special blog space where I post recipes that are only available there and other extras and goodies. If you are interested, please click the link below. Signing up for $10 month gets you both of my dessert ebooks for free (25 Vegan Cookie Recipes & Vegan Peanut Butter Desserts)

So, changes are coming. I will be honored if you stick through this with me and share and spread all the vegan love around the world. Compassion can be contagious! Let’s make it go viral!!!

Thank you, Thank you, All my dear readers. I would have given up so long ago if it weren’t for the feedback I get from YOU. Yes, you. Thank you! ❤

I wish the best 2019 to ALL.

  1. Jenny, I plan to live vicariously though your travels. When winter hits New England it is a struggle not to put on my sneakers and run Forest Gump-like across country to warmer skies. Keep us posted.

Ahaha! That’s exactly what I’m doing, except I loaded up my van because I don’t own sneakers LOL. Booked it outta there as fast as I could. I’ll definitely keep up the posts of my adventures (or lack thereof …. 🤣)!
