Each component of this sweet snack plays an important role – salty, sweet, creamy, fresh, fruity, spicy and of course, chocolate. Combined all together, they make the perfect one bite treat. Although, if you only eat one, I will be very impressed! I could have finished off an entire tray. Maybe I did…ahem. So…

This cannot be made much in advance or stored for very long as the pretzels will start to get soft/soggy. Luckily, they are a snap to put together so you can assemble them before your party without too much trouble.

These would be an excellent way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your special someone. Or impress that special someone with your immense culinary art skills!

Instructions
Prep:
  1. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until is is smooth and all combined. You can do this with an electric beater or by hand.
  2. Slice the strawberries approximately 1/4" thick. Slice the basil in thin strips.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips. In the microwave, this can be done in 10 second increments, checking and stirring after each time so it doesn't burn. Or it can be melted over a bain marie.
Assembly:
  1. Spread some of the cream cheese mixture on top of each pretzel thin. Top with a strawberry, then a strip of basil. Drizzle with chocolate. Enjoy!
